Poker is one of the most popular card games in the world and a game that requires skill, strategy and psychology to win. There are a variety of ways to play Poker, some more complicated than others but most involve betting on a hand and the ability to read other players’ bets and tells. The game is played by several players and the object is to win the pot, which is all bets made during a single deal.<\/p>\n
When a player wants to increase the amount of money they are betting, they can say “raise” and the other players will be able to either call the new bet or fold their cards. If a player calls the raise, they must reveal their hand to the other players who can then choose to fold, call or check.<\/p>\n
The rules of poker vary, but most allow players to raise their bets a number of times before they are forced to show their hands. The number of times the stake can be raised is usually limited to a few, however, as after a certain number of raises the pot may become so large that the players will be forced to fold instead of calling because they can’t afford to.<\/p>\n
