They fantasize about what they would do with a big jackpot. And they can become addicted to the thrill of buying a ticket and seeing if it will rewrite their fortunes.<\/p>\n
The earliest recorded lotteries were held in the Low Countries in the 15th century, to raise funds for town fortifications and to help the poor.
